He is now a convicted Felon-The jurors determined he was guilty BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT-by all accounts the jurors felt all the top members of the Bush adm. were involved-but they realized they weren't charged with anything-sometimes convictions themselves are not important-I beleive the majority of Americans believe there is more to the story than just Libby-it will just be a matter of time before the whole story breaks-and it will be neo-con hell.

To protect his lying boss.
Remember one of the premises that his own defense attorneys put forth. He was a fall guy for the administration.
His boss was supposed to testify on his behalf, then oops that's not going to happen
I think it was because they knew he would not have been able to withstand the blistering questions from the Special Prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald and he would have to lie on the stand to try and save his a** and the downward spiral will continue.
In any event, they are going to try and drag this appeal out until next year after the election so he can get a pardon.

As long as Bush promises a pardon to keep Libby from serving any real time it will be kept quiet. Same thing Clinton did the last day of his term. With two years to go though Bush might not be willing to do the pardon now and Libby might not be willing to do two years in general population in a federal prison so we may get the whole story sometime. I think you are correct that it could be the beginning of an impeachment.

Fran B, they won't be tried for treason because no act was committed against national security.

Second why did Bill Clinton lie and perjur himself? How many cover ups were in the Clinton Admin that will never make the light of day? Vince Foster to name one.

Stop throwing stones and try to congeal some sort of plan to work together in the future. I am tired of your ascerbic anger without plans. Put up or shut up.

All Clinton did was lie about sex. Libby lied about his knowledge of who leaked the name of a CIA agent (which I thought was ilegal, but silly me, if it is used as punishment to reveal the name of a CIA agent, well, as a Republican, you must accept it as good).

I wouldn't get my hopes up. The President Clinton felonies never did much to his administration so they should be fine at the Bush house.
