Went to my local Gamestop in a Chicago suburb and saw a Madden 08 cover with Rex Grossman on it. The clerk assured me that it is confirmed and Rex Grossman will be the cover boy for the latest Madden game. Someone please tell me that this entire world has not gone mad. I thought it was just Bears fans that were crazy to think that Grossman is really that good

What?!?!?!? If Rex Grossman is going to be on the next cover of Madden I won't play it any more. Now I am a Bears fan but Grossman is far from Madden Cover worthy, did anyone watch him play last season you can't be that good then that bad in the same year and be on the cover of the greatest NFL video game ever.

I was hoping to be the first one to bring up the Madden curse, but people beat me to it.
If Grossman is indeed on the cover, it's better than if Peyton or LT were on the cover simply because of the aforementioned curse.
If I were in charge of Madden '08 (and beyond), I'd put Chad Johnson on the cover, also because of the curse.

No. Sometimes video game places will put someone from the local team on the cover before the actual cover is released. It happens with all the EA Sports games. I remember for NBA Live '06 they had Chauncey Billips on the "cover" at the GameStop's in my area (Dwayne Wade would eventually be on the cover). As for the Madden game, they don't even put a Lion on the mock cover; just the Lion logo.

Grossman doesn't need the "Madden Cover Jinx", he's already a jinx to the entire city of Chicago.

I'm a bears fan, but I would never choose grossman for a game cover. This is really bad, the guy already thinks he is a great QB I can't imagine what will happen after this

That is crazy! I live in Chicago as well and have not heard anything about this. Grossman isn't even the best QB on his team. Madden has finally lost it if he puts Sexy Rexy on the cover.

no longer each participant has been hit with the Madden curse. Vince youthful wasn't hit with it. Neither became Ray Lewis who became on the cover of Madden '05. That guy actually were given away with homicide. the in reality participant who deserved being hit with the Madden curse became Michael Vick. i wish he's playing Tight carry about penitentiary.

Well i am a bears fan...but i sure as heck hope that he is not on the cover!!!! If they want to put someone off the bears on the cover do Devin Hester or Brian Urlacher....just not grossman...i hope that either Drew Brees or L.T. is on the cover they deserve it the most.

well, if rex is on the cover, i guess he'll be hit with the madden curse. oh wait, didnt that happen in the super bowl. lol. cant wait to see how the curse hits the bears this year!

I'll let you in on a little secret -- EA does this every year for promos. They'll make covers with a guy from each team and send it to those respective areas. For 07 there was one with LT on it (here in SD). And I heard from a guy in phili that the promo donovan one wasn't even the same one that was released in for 06.
