I'm scared of opening my curtains ever since i gave the poor window cleaner a shock after getting out of the shower!!!

No, there's people out there. I preferred the view from the sitting room window before I moved here. I had a lovely, tranquil and PRIVATE brick wall.
They haven't been open for about two weeks now. I don't want to see them and I don't want them to see me.

Yep. I live in Wales and wake up to the gorgeous views of blue skies and mountains, or, if i'm really lucky, a blanket of mist below and sunshine above the top of the valley!
(Unless it's raining, in which case it's still gorgeous!)

mine are never closed ! I live in the woods and can not see or be seen by another house. We also sit back from the road and we are lucky if 4 cars a day go passed.

I don't shut mine, no one can see in where I live. The security lighting and cameras would pick them up if they came into the area surrounding the house. If not the trained man eating guinea pig would savage them.

yes! There is a farm beyond my backyard, so I get to feel like a real country girl without having to feed the cattle :)
