my friend burnt some hidden files to a DVD and gave me,wen i place it in my system i am unable to aceess those

Question

wen i try to change the file properties by going to tools and show hidden files andfolders ,those files come in to screen but when i try to change their properties by deactivating the hidden option
an error message comes like,AN ERROR OCCURED WHILE APPLYING ATTRIBUTES TO THE FILE.
someone please tell me how to solve this problem so that the hidden files can be restored like other ordinary existing files?

Once the DVD is burned, the information is on it... you can't change the attributes on the file now it's burned onto the DVD... because the attributes are burned onto the DVD.

Copy them off onto your PC, change the attributes and write them to a new DVD.

Or get your friend to unhide them and burn them to a new DVD if you've not got a DVD burner.

I take it tere is some reason you don't want to leave them on your PC. Cos that would be easiets.

Your friend just used the wrong disc. Have your friend reburn on high quality readable writeable. I backed upped many hidden files. its also important to check what is on the disc to make sure the information is there before giving it out.

Check wether you have DVD reader !!
Otherwise ask your friend to reburn it in CD
