I could understand if slavery just ended a week ago or even a few years....but 150 years later and they're still whining?
You would think 150 years would be enough time to at least learn the basics of the English language, and yet we are faced with "Ebonics"

Show me a 150 year old black guy and I'll buy him a beer. Today's African-Americans are affected one way and one way only by the fact that their ancestors were slaves: the suffering of those ancestors made it possible for today's African-Americans to live in the greatest nation the world has ever known. Had they remained in Africa, they'd be eating beetles for sustenance as are their long-lost cousins.
If one were to line up all 300 million Americans in terms of net worth and standard of living, the person bringing up the rear of the line would be considered fabulously wealthy by African standards.

According to you, African Americans should just forget about slavery and the century of legal (and viciously enforced) discrimination that followed it and then wonder why they, in general, haven’t achieved parity in this country. Are you being deliberately obtuse or just deliberately racist, or perhaps both? It’s so much easier to just criticize black people than to think, analyze or learn anything that may be tiresomely problematic about this country’s history. Your question is a good example of the kind of deliberate ignorance and animosity that African Americans still face and still have to deal with. Honestly examine your basic premise about the history of African Americans, educate yourself and then perhaps you may be able to pose an intelligent question on race relations in this country. Somehow I doubt that will happen but I try to live in hope of a better future.

ask a Irishman to kiss a Englishman, ask someone Chinese to hug a Japanese, ask people from the south to forgive to north for that little war in 1860. time heals hurts but it takes time, black people were slaves in this country and after that there was jim crow. how many former slaves do you have in your family? wear orange on st pattys day, go to the parade and see what happens.. you woulded last a block.

why should they? if they would actually study and pay attention in class there would not be ebonics. I have several African American friends, that have bachelors and masters degrees and they don't need ebonics.infact they think ebonics is a joke.

They're more victims of themselves than anything else. Victims of themselves and their spokesmen, the ilk of Jesse Jackson, Farrakhan and Sharpton. Victims of themselves by not pulling up their pants, speaking English or having COMMON COURTESY.

It's been 3500 years since the "Israelites" were kicked out of Egypt. Can they stop playing the victim card already?

They need a reason to give to the juries to explain the criminal behavior...or an excuse for not working...the African Americans I deal with acknowledge that it happened and are proud of the advancement of their people...

So you woke up this morning, and that thought had been interfering with your sleep all night long. Is that right?
Actually, I thought you were going to say "Why can't they stop victimizing each other with stupid black on black crimes and killings."
That's a more relevant question.
