why do some people think if a black person is lighter than a certain shade their mixed and if they speak proper english their made fun of by some blacks i have been the victim of both i am a paper bag color my mom is really light skinned ive been called halfbr*eds alot in my life and i dont get why and my mom has been called white mexican and indian before i do speak proper english and have been told im and oreo im trying to be white im stuck up names like that and i dont see what is wrong with talking proper english can someone give me the scoop

Those people who speak ill of you for speaking proper english are both ashamed and jealous, as well as being lazy.
It's easy to sink into the parlance of the streets, it requires no thought, and very little work. To speak properly is to show that you care enough about yourself to take the time and make the effort to do so.
As for people who call you names due to your color, I wish there were an easy solution, but, this problem has been around as long as there have been people who are different, it's called racism, no matter who perpetuates it, and it's hateful and mean.
We white folks have years of this that we have to overcome, and, even when we have the best intentions, we sometimes fail.
Hope that you can overcome this meanness from people who should know better.

**If this in any way sounds like I'm picking on black people, I'm not, I'm just inarticulate and don't know how to say this properly**
I heard this thing on Oprah (shutup I was flicking channels) from a psychologist about how when a group of people have been opressed for a long time and told they are inferior to everyone else, even when their opressors leave or free them, they sub-consciously continue it themselves. That sounds very incoherent so I'll try explain it better. Black people were told they were dumb for decades so even now noone's officially stopping them it's in the culture and their sub-conscious that if you're black you're dumb so many will act dumb even when they aren't. And give people who get an education crap for wanting to be white. As though only white people would want to be educated. Similiar applies for how if you're black you are supposed to steal and use drugs etc.
Like how women were told they were sexual objects for the pleasure of men. Now post-feminism they prance around half-naked trying to get men to see them as sexual objects. It's like when you've been told you're something for so long, you don't know how else to be.

because the society is used to having black or mixed black people talk in some fixed fashion. and as you know, when a person doesn't follow the norms, they're considered deviants.

It's as twisted as that.

But there are many blacks in the UK who speak well. They even have a beautiful accent.
