Both the mobile phone and the other computer you want to link with infared have to have the infared capability turned on. On my mobile smartphone I did this under Start>Settings >System> Connections >Beam. Then I checked the box which said to "Receive all incoming beams".

I link my laptop and my Palm Treo 700w all the time. Both have to be turned on and any passwords given.

The laptop acknowledges my Treo when I get the infared square from my smartphone within range (an inch or so away). A few seconds later, both devices give either an audio or visual cue that they can send/receive files.

My Windows laptop has a built in infared connectivity program called "Wireless Link" which directs me to copy the file I want to send into it. You have to physically maintain visual contact between the infared ports on both mobile phone and the other device or the connection is lost.

For a lot of things, this is way easier than ActiveSync between my Treo and my laptop, though I still use ActiveSync for updating Outlook contacts and calender.

First , active the ird
second , take it with the degree about 15 - 30 with your PC
Third , you must do something to avoid disconnection
if you donn't do something , the connection lost after 30 seconds
