I am looking to buy one and have been scouting around for the best price, but before I commit to at least £60 I thought I would ask around for some opinions. Anyone know who is selling it the cheapest?

All they do is show you how much electricity you are using. Is it worth £60 to find this out?

We all know that washing machines at 40c use less than at 60c. Kettles with a small amount of water use less electric than full kettles.

TVs left on standby use power. Turning down electric rings on the cooker saves power as does using slow cookers. low energy bulbs use less electric than regular ones.

These things will only tell you what you know already, save your money. Worth a tenner but not 50 or 60 quid.

I have recently spent 3 years in rental accomodation with a pre-pay electricity meter (with a pre-pay key). It's a little bit more expensive per unit than a quarterly meter but it focusses your attention as it displays how much in £'s that you use. No nasty quarterly bill surprises so you are almost totally in control. You save more than the little bit extra that it costs so you can be thrifty and a tree hugger at the same time.

Saw one of these featured on TV. I looked on the website for the product. All it does is show you which electrical goods use the most electricity.

Like I dont know this already?

This would only save you money if you had absolutely no knowledge of how much electricity the items use.
