Because it is 100% certain. I hope you find a way to prevent it, and share it with the rest of us. But if you can't find a way, try and enjoy your life until the inevitable comes.

Entropy is basic reason death is the most certain possibility.
Man doesn't have to accept his own death as certain, by any means. Of course, if that's the case he's just fooling himself...
I know, this doesn't really answer the question of *why* he must accept it. I'd say he must accept it because it just makes everything easier. I'm not saying man must be despondent about it, all I'm saying is that there can be a healthy appreciation for what life is, and its value. There, that's it. Death is what makes life worth living. There can't be one without the other.

It is a certain possibility because it is derived from present/past experience that no one is alive beyond a certain age.
The only other possibility before death is that the world and all living beings transform into something else and we escape death ! Some sort of a big bang....

Because death is a fact that happens to all living things sooner or later. Any other future possibility is theory, hope or imagination, even though you think you know it will happen there are no guarantees that it actually will happen.
I don't think we have to accept anything, we can go through it kicking and fighting if we wish. Accepting facts can make our lives easier since we'll get more energy to fight the things that we can change, but it's each persons choice to do with as they please.

Why should man be any different than anything else. Everything has its end. The stars die or transpose. All that is will at some time be no more.
The same with yu and I. We will be no more at some time in the future. That even could be before this day is over.
We and everything will eventualy be recycled into something else so in one sense we do not die we just sease as we are and become something else.

Death is not an ending, it is a beginning of a and beautful way of life. All you are doing is getting rid of a worn out shell. You are whole and your sould are beautiful. I know this because the bible tell's you what is going to happen. Death is nothing to fear. Sometime's, it can be a dear friend and release you from a life full of pain. Blessed Be.

I have a terminal illness that will one day take me home to God. I have accepted my fate, but not without going through the 5 steps of mourning, you know anger, depression etc. Well, with the cloning that is supposedly starting to come to the fore....maybe future generations can just take some time out and be re-invented into someone/something else? Who knows. I don't want to live like that if it comes about....I want to give my soul to God and move on that way.

I think accepting death really means accepting your life and finding that after the many years you have lived your life still meant something, it had meaning. And not in the role playing of life but in the deep, profound sense that all taht time and learning was not in vain.
As you take your last breath, and close your eyes you know that your years have left a mark, some recognition of your human experience.

It is the only certainty in life. Knowing that we are able to make choices which will affect everything we do in life. There is no way to prevent death - we only have a limited time on this Earth. Make the best of it!!

You come to observe how beings evolve in life and you see that
animals get born and die, Human beings around you get born and die. You haven't really seen anyone not die, that makes it certain.
The body transforms into different elements after death of the body.
Whether you (the spirit/soul) are inside that body whent the body transforms into somethingelse is another question.
