Technically it is accepted as a general rule that gravity is taken to be 9.81 ms^-2 on the Earth but there are variations as the Earth is not quite as spherical as you may think.

It is slightly less at the equator and slightly more at the Poles (North & South) - but to be honest the difference is negligable.
