Yes, men and women are generally equal to blame, but why does it happen?

Hello Poopsy,
This must be a modern day phenomina, simply because it seems there are more young ladies in the world for men to choose from, and I suppose the opposite is true too.
So this is the way I see it, when I was a young man ( I am 62 now, and married to my loving wife Susan, for 42 years) there wasn't as much on offer to a young man, Oh yeah! it was the 1960's and free love was very prevalent, and there was a lot of young ladies and young gentlemen about, but the were not all as easy going with their sexy bodies as are the younger folk of this day and age. and I see it almost all the time, when young people are just running about like headless* chickens and can't wait to find the next great conquest in the lives. and its the * above that I want to refer to now! in a world where so much sex is on show, like in the pubs, clubs, television, magazines, and celebs' putting themselves about as if we would miss them if they were not in our faces every minute of every day, and night, the boys and girls of todays world have an awful lot to live up to.. I feel you know what I am getting at.
I do blame the media for putting all this about celebs on show, and anyway, who wants to see famous people getting in and out of their massive motors without their underwear, well not me, and I would dare to say not you either Poopsy, but the fact remains that a younger man wouldn't mind seeing it all, and even act on the information their little minds see and digest. So what is going wrong is, All the younger men that are so very impressed by all that is on offer,is that he knows that these young ladies are on offer and he will act as though " Well, she's putting it on a plate for me, and I am not going to starve myself" and goes right ahead, and makes her pregnant, and let's face it, the young lady is going to get rather large as the months go by, and neither she nor he is going to be very comfortable with any lovemaking that he seeks with her, he doesn't have the patience to wait and he will soon be off to find another girl he is going to be comfortable with, and there my dear Poopsy, you have it, in a nutshell, when a protective condom would have made that love affair last ages longer, so it's no wonder there are so many single mothers around. I hope you are not one of them, but if you are, I am certain you will love your baby....
Me? Oh I am just an old man who with his loving wife, have raised 11 children, 4 of our own and 7 that we adopted, and some of those 7 are from broken homes, but they were raised in a home where they were raised responsibly to adulthood and now it's just Susan and me at home in our little bungalow, all set to love and enjoy our retirement, because the children got asll themselves together and made it this way, and that my love is appreciation form 11 fabulous kids that are so in love with the Mum and Dad, maybe we are two people who are the exception to this new modern day rule, but we knew what we were doing, and thank Heavens we got it right, if only for our childrens sakes.
I do so hope this answers your question fully for you, I enjoyed the challenge to do it, is it enough for you? Bye, and good luck in your life, ....................Tony M

well firstly I think women are just as bad as men now. I think the major problem is a lot of couples like the idea of a baby without thinking it through first properly - they dont realise the stress and strain involved with kids - and when it hits them - they dont know how to cope and the easiest thing to do is walk!
Many mothers just dont want the added hassle of having a man around the place and choose to raise a kid single handedly - theres no real right or wrong answer to your question - its just that society has now made it acceptable to have children single handedly - the government almost rewards these women by paying for their child - I personally know a girl who chose to have kids - ditch the fathers and is now in the process of buying a government schemed house for €40.00 a month - as well as getting benefits in cash - if she works less than 39 hours a week shes classed as part time and gets an extra child allowance benefit on top of her wages!
I guess what Im trying to say is that whilst many people assume these women are pitiful coz they've been abondaned - the truth a lot of the time is that they're the ones who walk!!
xx

You have your own answer in your question - single mothers. A lot of men find it hard being tied down with a family - yeh I know they shouldn't have had children in that case but hey we are talking about men they dont have a thinking process in their brains.

It isn't always the men who don't stick with their partners, us women are just as much to blame.

i wouldn't know, i'm not a single mother.

why do you say "why don't men stick with their partners?" a lot of the time it's the woman that ends the relationship.

and besides, there are just as many single dads out there aswell.

Are you sure it isn't the women who get rid of the men???

Don't generalise about these things... Men and women are equally to blame...
