Stuck up parents?

Question

Is it just me but alot of the parents at my childrens primary school are stuck up and stand offish
They seem to put their children on pedistals , compete with birthday partys
Are parents like this everywhere or just this school
I have always lived in this area it seems to be the parents who have moved into a "better area"
I`m not stuck up just amazed at their childish behaviour

I used to work in a college in Leytonstone and can clarify that it's not just posh parents.
Parents evening was always a joy. Just you try and warn a parent that their child may not be performing as well as they could be.
"WHAT!!!, HOW DARE YOU SAY MY KIDS THICK! ARE YOU SAYING THEY'RE STUPID?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN? WELL YOU CAN'T DO YOUR JOB, IT'S NOT MY KIDS FAULT ..."
etc, etc. A couple of times it stopped just before it got physical. Makes teaching a tad difficult to say the least.

LOL Now that's Creepy as that's is Exactly the way that my Parents are... -_-'' ... Sometimes I wish that they could just act like Normal people... but whats Normal Now adays I wonder!!! ...

Basically from day One they've made sure that we where placed into Private (Boys Only!!!) Schools and then when we had or will turn 13 like some of my younger brothers etc... they send us to schools like Eton so to answer your question...

Yep it's not just your School that they act like that... It's World Wide mate...

Why fight it though... hasn't done me any harm nor my brothers hehe... ^-^ ...

yes there everywhere, and they teach their kids to be snobby stuck up too. i dislike parents that are that way, they think because they have a better house than you a better car, a better job, that they can snob the world, but i got news for them they put their pants on one leg at a time just like i do.. i figure as long as you teach you child to be well behaved, well mannered and polite then to heck with the rest of them..

You'll get them everywhere,usually stuck in their little click in the school yard tryng to be all posh and better than everyone else,more faces than the church clock,oh! yes i've seen them.You've get to laugh because nobody likes them anyway,and wouldn't want to be their friends if they offered.I was asked to go to a fund raiser by some of them,i nearly had a heart attack and had to ill that night,OMG. We have them at our school,all wanting to be on the school commitee,plonkers!
The other parents at school by the way call them the 'Mafia'.

I agree. There has to be a limit . It is not just at your school, it is a worldwide trend. Children are taking over the parent's lives.

I think it is admirable that parents take the time to praise their children in public. Why should there be shame for showing affection for a child, or having pride in one? I think there needs to be more attention paid towards their welfare. Some adults do have offensive behavior patterns, but some adults do not. Maybe you have a wrong perception? Lessen the pressure on yourself and don't worry about others so much. Be pleased with what you have, for your child or children, & don't try to measure up to a standard that annoys you. That puts you into their league.
