George,

Yep...sadly, it happens all the time.

Those who choose to start abusing narcotics and find themselves doing anything to support that habit are truly lost, don't you think?

Well, yeah, it is....suppose you are out in the woods and you think to yourself...."hey, wouldn't it be cool if I got lost while I'm out here and they finally realize I'm gone in a day or two and they send out all these search crews and helicopters to look for me and they finally find me scratched and bruised with a couple of broke bones, dehydrated and hypothermic from the freezing cold night," and while you're pondering all this as you walk you take a wrong turn and actually DO become lost...
So the answer is...YES. It is possible. No wait, that would still be accidental....
So the answer is now NO. It's not.
Hope that clears it up for you.

I heard that when lost people travel in circles because one leg is always slightly shorter then the other.

so, yeah you can but, you definetly cant become unlost deliberately.

Yes - I have done it often. I am early for something, so I drive down this road and that looking at houses, knowing exactly where I am, when hey presto! I haven't a clue where I am...

:D Yes. I actually did that once. I took a bus and I got off at this place I had NEVER been before... and there I was lost....
It was fun, though.
