Sorry, but so far everyone has started with a big mistake -- EVERY word they have given has contained the letter y, used as a vowel!

The "rule" people are thinking of is "a,e,i.o,u". But, in fact, this is an oversimplified list. More accurate is -- the vowels are a, e, i, o, u, sometimes y and sometimes w.

People get confused because SOMETIMES --at the beginning of a syllable-- "y" is used for a consonant sound (as in 'year'). BUT everywhere else it marks a vowel sound! This should be obvious when you compare "sky" and "skies" or "Eddy" and "Eddie". In fact, y is used for a vowel much more often than for a consonant.

So "crypt" and "rhythm" and all the rest do NOT lack a vowel.

Someone may, at some point, come up with "cwm". But even if we allow it (it is actually a WELSH word, not an English one), this W is functioning as a vowel. The word is pronounced "coom". (English uses w as a vowel too -- but only when combined with other vowels, as in "how", "law", "few" (cf. the same sound written with a u in "house", "laud" and "feud")

The ONLY words in English that are written with NO vowels are a set of "interjections" and imitations of sounds we make

Examples: brr, grr, shh, psst, hmm

So for your question, the best answers I have for you

5-letter - mmhmm
6-letter - tsktsk
7-letter - tsktsks

Hi!!!

5 letter words are Lymph, Tryst, Nymph, Crypt, Crwth

6 letter word is Rhythm.

The longest word is TWYNDYLLYNGS

Twyndyllyngs is the longest word in English that doesn't contain one of the five vowels (AEIOU). It comes from Welsh and is obviously rare, but it does appear in the Oxford English Dictionary.

It turns out that "twyndyllyng" (singular) is a 15th century spelling of the word "twinling," which means, in modern English, "twin."

Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
