Prayer is an honest conversation with God in which you worship Him and sincerely seek His direction for your life with an open heart as His love relationship with you is created and maintained.
Prayer is two-way fellowship and communication with God in which what God says is more important than what you say. Prayer is a relationship, not just a religious activity, designed to adjust you to God rather than to adjust God to you. Prayer is a need in your life because of what God wants to do in and through your life during your praying.
Prayer is God's people crying to God for help in response to His discipline, repenting of sin in response to His plumb line, and experiencing God daily in a more mature love relationship as God revives them and brings spiritual awakening to the world..... ^_^

Prayer is an active effort to communicate with a spirit either to offer praise to make a request, seek guidance, confess sins, or simply to express one's thoughts and emotions. The words of the prayer may either be a set hymn or incantation, or a spontaneous utterance in the praying person's own words

It's a form of introspection. It is looking at your life and asking yourself questions and thinking of the grand scheme of things. Too many faith bashers here to get to the real meaning and that is sad.
