Perhaps when the world stops defending the rights of despots, dictators and genocidal maniacs over the rights of the oppressed citizens of these countries. The United States believes in peace. This idea that we at war with world is a fallacy and always has been. This is not to say that we have not committed unspeakable acts in the name of foreign policy because we have, but the average American holds the values of freedom dear and believes that all should be allowed to enjoy the same rights that too many of us take for granted. It is easy to live in a Western society with the openness enjoyed and claim that others are responsible for their own destinies. If you want to argue that the United States is selective in where it chooses to fight for Democracy I would agree with you. The evidence of this can be seen in what is happening in Africa and our lack of response while we choose to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, the idea that we do not believe in world peace and freedom for all is just a misrepresentation of the truth.

Cherry blossom is correct, there is no money in peace. America has never promoted peace in the world. Bush invaded Iraq because of oil and not because of the weapons.

Why is it always America that must do things for the World? Are all the other countries on this planet so incompetent as to be unable to work on this themselves?

2) when you put people in office that have a clear head on what to do.
3) when we understand that the worlds problems are not our own.
4) when we solve the problem between the Jews and Arabs.
we have to understand that this whole problem has been because we have ignored the arabs problem over the jews.
