I've tried both queues and they're both incredibly slower.

I now tend to look in the entrance to see what the queue is like and walk to Sainsbury's; It may be further away and slightly more expensive sometimes, but when it's your lunch break and time is limited, it actually works out better.

I've spoken to friends and colleagues about this and they agree; So much for Tescos taking over the world!

I'd just like to know if others have had the same issue and their thoughts?

I HATE self service tills with a passion & refuse to use them.
Not because I cant, but because they are cutting down on people's jobs & making more profit for the company.

I usually do my shopping on a Friday night when theres not many people out (as I hate shopping anyway) but now when I do go on a Friday night, they have no cashiers on whatsoever & people are forced to use self service tills. Theres always queues & when the things go wrong, there isnt a manager in site to help!! So now I shop at Morrisons.

I like to be spoken to & be served by a human being when I do my shopping, not a computer!!!

There, rant over! lol

Most people who use the Self-service tills take longer to get their shopping through. This is because they wait for the till to tell them what to do rather than just scanning and bagging and scanning and bagging.

And when you a store has self service tills - Tesco can reduce the number of 'manned' tills, which slows that queue as well - but does increase the annual dividend to the share holders!!!

Tesco is cheaper, and its products are normally a little better.
But the self service tills are useless. They are hard to use, with little instruction and are so slow. I tried using one once, I just wanted to give up and go to the other till.

The best system is the one that used to be in Safeways where you insert your loyalty card, pick up a gun, scan as you shop (and pack if you were organised) go to a till, stick your gun in, and hey presto you pay. So much quicker and easier.

Why do big corporate companies complicate everything?

The self-service tills will get quicker once people learn how to use them, but at all the shops round my area with the new self service are quick.

Tescos sucks. And you're probably waiting longer because people don't know how to use the self service tills. People suck too.
