Hi All
for the past two weeks my breasts have been really tender and sore. They ache all time and the nipples are a bit sore too. I have also noticed some blue veins on my breasts, which may have been there before but not sure! I am on the mini pill which I have not missed so not suspecting pregnancy but I did two tests yesterday just in case and both were negative.

I also went to my doctor yesterday morning who examined me and said that they looked and felt fine, so didnt suspect anything serious like breast cancer.
Anyone got any ideas what could cause this please? Is it normal?
thanks

Hello, just wanted to thank you all. I have just rang my doctor and requested a pregnancy test which Im having week on friday. The doctor said she didnt think I would be preganant as I have taken the pill correctly and its 99% effective and I've only had sex once in 4 months (but it only takes once). Spose it doesnt do any harm checking does it :-)!
If not I'll try changing my pill I think.
thanks

I used to get this alot, they were so sore it was terrible! I found that it happened when i was late for some reason and could barely move because they were so sore! Get it all cleared at the doctors first of all but what I did was start taking evening primrose oil as it can help maintain healthy hormone balance and since ive been taking it, i have found that I dont get sore breasts at all - this is for the future, not now although you could start taking it now if you want! sorry it doesnt really answer your question completely but hopefully could help you in the future!

You may want to trade birth controls. I was on Yaz for a little while and my breasts hurt and I mean hurt. They got almost just like your but with out the veins. The pill maybe givving you breast tenderness because there are to much hormone for you body. You may want to talk to your doctor for a pill like Loestrin and any other lose dose one. This will help you get rid of the tenderness. Believe me. I went throught it to and I am on Loestrin and my breasts haven't hurt once. Good Luck!

You could be nearing your period...or be pregnant. I never missed a pill and still got pregnant, they aren't 100%. Wait a week or so, and do the test, if it's negative and you're still sore, maybe see a doctor for a blood pregnancy test. Good luck! :)

Are you pregnant ? Some women get tender breast as a first sign of that. long before a test shows it. wait a week or two and test again. Or use a first response type of test.

Sounds hormonal to me. Either because your period is due or you are pregnant. The veins are perfectly normal and breast cancer would not present in this way. If it persists for another week, I would go back to your GP and tell them how uncomfortable you are.

Good Luck.

I have very sore swollen breasts just when my period is due. So I am sure yours must be hormone controlled.

PMS, Your are probally close to your period. It can be a sign of pregnancy too but you already ruled that out.
