I believe the Patriot Act was put in place to give our authorities more options to apprehend suspected terrorists.

I believe it better defines suspicious behavior that can lead to acts of terrorism *without* trampling on our civil liberties.

Zero. That's the number of substantiated USA PATRIOT Act civil liberties violations. Extensive congressional oversight found no violations. Six reports by the Justice Department's independent Inspector General, who is required to solicit and investigate any allegations of abuse, found no violations. Intense public scrutiny has yet to find a single civil liberty abuse. Despite many challenges, no federal court has declared unconstitutional any of the PATRIOT Act provisions

I think it takes our rights away bit by bit. I also think thatn the no ethics/morals bunch in this present adminstration abuse the patriot act every day. Weilding thier power against their precieved enemies(CIA scandal, now the federal attorney scandal). This is the WORST and most corrupt adminstration we've EVER had. Trying to hide behind thier bible and flag is DISGUSTING.
