There a few things that I'm going to do: Firstly, I'm going to make shirts with feminist messages on them. Secondly, I'm going to make some fliers about women's history... Thirdly, I'm dedicating this month to the reading of women's literature - I've already devoured Pride and Predjudice and Frankenstien. Building awareness of female intellectual capability - so that little girls can easily access it - is a hugely important task. I remember attending science classes in which ALL listed scientists were men - female contribution was utterly ignored! To slough off this ignorance of female scientific/intellectual discoveries is important.
I'd like to challenge all the feminists who read this question to create an entry on your blog for women's day. Use it to highlight some important womens' issues. Also, its important to make a ruckus!! Let people know that women's day MEANS something ... wear a shirt, post fliers, etc... Awareness is key!
(And btw, to the poster ... your comment on this question is very meaningful to me because I plan to adopt a little girl once I've grounded myself completely in my career (paleontology) Thanks!)

There are several events being sponsored all around the world that one can participate in. I am sure there are some things going on in your area.
This is just one of the many things is going on near where I live in honor of International Women's Day.
Event: National Union of Eritrean Women-DC Chapter
About: Fundraising Gala-Proceeds to go to NUEW-DC project to build an educational and training center for women in Senafe, Eritrea
Venue: Sheraton National Hotel, 900 Orme Street, Arlington, Virginia, 22204
Org'n: National Union of Eritrean Women-DC Chapter: Established in 1979 and with over 200,000 members worldwide, leads the way in promoting the economic, social, cultural and political position of Eritrean women
What more meaningful way to mark the day then strategically planning to build an educational and training school for our sisters!

Show the Mother feeding the sons. Write "Jananee Janmabhoomis cha, Swargat api gareeyasi" - Mother and mother land gives much more happiness than heaven - Write playcards and banners and hang all over, including back of baniyans and robes.

I personally feel the most meaningful way to mark a women's day is to make her feel special each day of her life and make 8th of March an extra special one by helping her to relive those beautiful old days in her memory. Any women feels special if she is allowed to live her dream even if it is for one day...so if you know any women whose dream you know you can make it come true then you should so that she can mark it off in her calendar as the day when she lived her dreams in reality.

Ladies are best and some are bad.
Is there any lady who can say to me: What will you eat? I can pay any money to any women who is ready to give me desired, seasonal, simple tasty food me.
This is not complaint.
This is expression of need.
Ladies want and buy all as per need / fashion.
Can they give 50% liberty to males?
Women should prove that they are NOT BAD,

get yourself some of those airbrushed panties that have a city skyline painted on the back that say: "Have a night on the Town," on them, then sit around in them all evening watching videos of "Working Girl," "Fried Green Tomatoes," and "Nine to Five."
And, Oh yeah, eat a crapload of ice cream.

There is no end to the list.
There should be a theme attached to the day.
For a start;
Women's Day - Show Courtesy Gentlemen!

What they have a Women's day now? And a Women's history month too?
To answer the question: hmm there is no meaningful way to mark Women's day since it is not a meaninful day. (Sorry just my opinion. Don't get offended, I think a lot of the holydays we have are meaningless.)

In my house we are going to emphasize the importance of whats inside the girl as oppose to what our packaging looks like.....building self-esteem.....based on anything but breast implants....nose jobs.....and tummy tucks....we do this daily with our children .......but we are inviting 3 friends each from my children's elementary school to join us....parents permission of course....to talk about true beauty....which has nothing to do with the latest cover of any beauty magazine
