ok well i disagree, the main reason people marry are for the tax benefits and i don't really see how that should not be allowed to people who happen to find the opposite sex attractive. speaking as a straight female, i don't see any reason also why they shouldn't be allowed to have the same right to life long commitment as straight couples. again the financial security that marriage brings should be allowed to both sexes and there really is no reason to deny it to gay couples. obviously church weddings are not going to happen in this or probably the next century (if we survive that long), but the state really should know better. the whole "it's wrong ewww" agrument, well what can u say, is really quite childish and bloody well conservative in this day and age. so yes, if a gay couple wants to marry then let them do so, gay wedding bells and all!

Naturally, there's no logical answer as to why gays should not be allowed to marry.

I can't. Nor can anyone else with a sense of Humanity.
Okay, so I don't consider myself to be marriage material - that doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate the right, if the right man or woman were to come along.
Equal rights for all. I should be allowed to marry the person I love, or no one should.

Nobody will be able to give you an answer with statistics and logic, because the only argument against gay marriage is religious.

They should be forced to marry and all straights that get divorced have to give their children to gay couples. Gay divorce should not be legal and is terminated by death only. I think all marriages should be surgically connected so that when one dies they both die at the same time.

Gay people should be allowed to marry. Its unfair for the government to say you cant marry someone. They have no right to do that. But whatever... its gonna change!

If you don't believe in God or anything likewise, then there is no reason, as all reason is subjective. If you do, there is plenty to be alarmed of, because divine purpose comes into play. In that light, asking why gays shouldn't get married is like asking why ships shouldn't shouldn't sail on land... because that's not their design, nor their purpose.
