I was interested in pursuing a career in radio or acting. I know tagalog pretty well and I'm Filipino so that helps. What do you think?

Honestly, it depends on what you look like. They are into mestiza girls and if you are, then I am sure you can. Just head to abs-cbn or gma and you should be able to. I've lived in both countries and it's great to have the experience of learning your Filipino culture and getting back to your roots. If you are into radio, you better have a smooth, cool voice because it doesn't matter much what you look like for that. It may take a bit of time, don't think you can just plnge in and be a celebrity. If you are into stage productions, there are many of those like Trumpets or another one in Shangri-la mall. I forgot the name. Good luck!

Go and try it. You can always go back to the USA. The Philippines is a great country and may present great opportunities to you. Not everyone in the country earns $200 per month (as a matter of fact my driver earns more). I am guessing that the other answerers have never been to or at least lived in the Philippines. With your background you may be able to do better for yourself in the Philippines than in the US - if not you can go back. Also not all Filipinos want to go to the US, many are doing quite well there.

You may find that the USA isn't all it's cracked up to be once you leave. I left the USA 15 years ago, and become more and more convinced that the place is a hole the longer I stay away. I originally intended to go away for 2 years, now I don't want to ever go back. There are a lot of nicer places to live.

If you're attractive, then it's easier to go into the entertainment line. Another thing is you should know someone in the business, otherwise it'll be a bit difficult. Make sure you get a good agent, or manager, i think thats what they call it there. Before you move, make some call back in the philippines and try to find the stardard of living, etc. But be prepare for some culture shock.

Not a good idea. There are not very many well known Filipino actors in the Philippines so I would suggest try moving to New York or Miami.

We have got millions of illegal aliens breaking down our borders to live the "good" life over here and escape poverty and you want to go live in poverty. You are amazing and most filipinos will think you are crazy. Do you know that the average income there is less than $200 per month and the cost of living is really not that much cheaper unless you are living in total poverty.

If I were you I would be grateful you live here in the U.S.A. and just go visit the Philippines.

Yes. If you have a talent, you can pursue your career here. Filipinos are fond of showbiz matters. You might be successful someday like other Half-Filipino who are now very welcome and popular in the Philippines.

You're crazy girl. California is one of the best places on Earth to live. A normal everyday life here is better than a movie star life over there. Do whatever your heart tells you though.

Don't listen to these idiots. Travel and experience new places and cultures while you are young, remember California will always be the same and you can always come back if you want to.

Do you have any idea how many Filipinos want to go to the States??? If I were you I'd stay where I am. You are lucky enough for being there as it is.
