She's 18 and a bit down in the dumps. I am after ideas on what I could do with her or for her to bring her a little bit of sunshine. :)

Original ideas welcomed!

Why don't you talk to her to find out the reason why she is down and then see if it would be possible for you to help her fix the problem. Then you could suggest shopping, and going to a department store and having your make up done, or going for a sauna. Watching a some of her favourite films, going out to lunch somewhere, going to the cinema.

Or you could just let her know that you are and will always be there for her and you love her because she is the best sister in the world

Take a cruise together. Take her to dinner, and tell her that it is your treat because you appreciate having such a wonderful sister. Take her shopping for a new outfit--your treat! Plan a pajama party with her. Pull out some of her old autograph books and read them together. Pick up a nice friendship card for her. Bake her favorite cake and have a real long talk while eating it.(She may just need to talk) Take her to the St. Patrick's Day parade. Give her a note that says "If you take that frown off your face, I will clean your room for you."

Make a picnic, include a bottle of wine and some chocolate, wrap up warm and take her to the park so you are on neutral territory and alone and can talk and talk all day. Maybe this is all she needs, just to spend some time with someone she loves.

You are a great sister for wanting to do this and I hope she knows this.

You know what's wrong with her so if its a man probs take her out to a club and get ratted.

If its something else and you are to young to take her to a club then tell her to come to the pickys with you.

If none of that works then its off to the shops for some shopping therapy.

Take her out to lunch in a really nice pub or restaurant. Take her round the shops and have a great girly time with her. She sounds like she needs a really good pick me up.

When i feel down i usually go on a shopping spree, that's always fun. Why don't you both go and have some pampering or a day out shopping and having lunch together, she may open up and tell you way she feels down.

At 18 she probably doesnt even know why she is feeling down because of her hormones and emotions going crazy. I was in the same boat. The best thing you could do for her is to get her out of the house. Take her to the mall or to see a funny movie. Make her feel loved.

U are already on your way to doing it hey!

Talk to her, buy her flowers, and act a fool.

Buy her a CD single if you can't afford flowers.

Tell her about your day, but in a sincere tone, like you want to share something important with her.

I cheered my sister up just by acting myself and talking to her.
