The British youth as you put it are always protesting, except that they're called riots.

Years ago I remember listening to Nightowls when a caller reported there was a riot going on on the Meadow Well Estate in Newcastle. Alan Robson called a halt to the normal run of the show and he concentrated on the riot.

However, we rarely have major political protests in London as we live in quite a stable and prosperous country. We may not like the current government and its leader but at least we are allowed to say so openly unlike in some countries. That right is ingrained in us, we've had it for centuries. That leaves our young people free to persue the lighthearted subjects of what to wear and who to impress.

Wow! Brilliant grammar!

Feelings of the British youth as I know it:
1- Randy
2- Fashion conscious
3- Opressed
4- Randy
5- Want to get drunk
6- Randy

No protest required.

Agree with you Biqo.
I have an 18year old son who yes, does like fashion
and dating. But he also likes football, tennis, rugby
dining out, travelling and he still enjoys family time.
He goes to college and is working hard to get to his
goal of eventually becoming a firefighter. He has
worked with the Marines and the Royal Navy and
does loads if fitness. He also likes a drink.
The only thing my my protests about is why we are
having chicken on a Sunday roast when he likes Lamb!!!
So I think its safe to say that you are being judgemental
on British youth. They don,t have to go on protest marches
to give their opinion. So - I don,t know the circles that you
mix in. But please - like everyone else in the world - everyone
is different. Good and Bad.

How judgemental! What if they don't have nothing to protest about and everything is hanky dory with them? Do they have to go out protesting, anyway, to prove to you that they have more goals in life than fashion and dating?! What is it you want them to protest over anyway?!

That's so untrue, if you go to the various University's around the UK there are always protests being organized.

There isn't much to protest about to be honest.
