I've always found the following comedians extremely funny:
Chris Rock, Paula Poundstone, Bill Engvall, Mitch Hedberg (LOVED him), Roseanne Barr (BEFORE she got really famous), Eddie Murphy (strictly as a stand-up comedian), Richard Pryor (strictly as a stand-up comedian), Ron White, Ellen DeGeneres (BEFORE her ELLEN sitcom), Flip Wilson (LOVED his Geraldine), Sinbad (guilty pleasure).
Those are just a few. I'm sure I missed some more funny ones.
