The actual rate right now is $1.00 USD equals $1,278.40 IQD, you will not get that rate anywhere but in Iraq! There are many online sites you can buy from but your luck to get half that rate, needless to say they are making a killing!! It's just like taking any other risk with investing, if it turns out well in the end it will be a long wait for a return on this one. A lot of people seem to think that in the next "6 months" the IQD will increase in value and it will be payday for those who invested, I have been in Iraq for the last 3 1/2 years and I have heard that story since the day I got here! I believe that if you have the money to invest its worth the risk, considering the exchange rate right now it would not take a large amount of money to invest that will pay off well in the end should the IQD increase in value. Personally from what I have seen I don't think this will happen for a long time, so until then I will just hold on to what I have and see what happens. The Iraqis primarily used the IQD here in Iraq.
