My brother has got married to a girl who was not virgin at the time of marriage. He is now not able to tolerate her and started torturing her. He told her, " I could not sleep with a lady who has so bad physical condition, even if I could have got a girl like you in free of cost."Can we apply for divorce on this ground? Can my sister-in-law harrass my brother on the ground of mental torture? If she cannot prove the mental torture, then can we take any legal step against her? Can mental torture be proved? My brother has used so many slang languages in his mail to her. Can it be a valid document as a proof? Is any document required to file a case for mental and verbal torture? She wrote she was ill. But my brother neither called her nor phoned her. Even from my house no one called her where as she informed us that she was ill. Will she be able to take legal step using telephone evidence and email? My brother is in Angola. She is in India. We are Indian.

Does a persons past really matter. You never know, what was her mental state when she lost her virginity. You never know, that whether she lost it because of sex.

I am also from India. The problem is your brother(and other in your family) need some counselling. In India when a girl gets married she is considered as a member of the guy's family. So try to be kind to her.
Also, do your brotther know that she was not a virgin at the time of marriage? if so and he married then the fault is his. Try to go for family counselling.
Even if he doesnt know about it and he can accept that then they can lead a peaceful life or get a divorce using this reason.(but again u cant prove it until the gal agrees).
Life is short.. get some counselling done and be happy... You done loose anything by adjusting.. u just gain more..

I can only answer if this was in the USA, yes any physical evidence such as mail could be used as evidence in court, but on the other hand, she would probably have to prove evidence that she was seeking medical help for a mental condition caused by her hubby. You could probably charge her with harassment on the grounds of mental illness but then that would only help her too. The mail will probably hurt your brother if she still has them, hopefully she might have destroyed them in a fit of madness, but dont count on it.There is alot of hearsay above on her part which wont work in court, but shes probably trying to scare your brother with them like the phone calls. Your brother doesnt need to get into the little kid games with her as this may backfire against him in court so tell himto stop all unnecessary contact with her. Hope this helps and good luck

Really you people are sick and mean mentality. Suppose if you will be in position of your sis-in-law what you can do in this position, if your hubby will blame you without any evidence? so think positive , may be your brother is in dout and he will entangled in someone love in Angola

the only thing that I can suggest is for him to try to get a divorce. He would be doing her a favor....It may be a cultural thing I don't really know...but to me you are a couple of sick and cruel individuals....I hope she gets everything....shame on you both
