Right, this one's easy.
Right click my computer > Manage > Storage
Then chose the memory stick (easiest to tell by size) and change the drive letter it's assigned to to something different.
This problem occurs when windows tries to assign two physical volumes to the same drive letter, meaning that it doesn't appear in My computer.
See? Easy!

Have same problem, that maybe caused by a lack of electricity on USB bus, connect the device directly to computer's USB not through a hub, try that first.

You probably are working on a Microsoft 95/98 OS. I think your flash drive has a CD with the driver in it, so if you do have it, try installing the driver first. if you're working on a Microsoft 2k/XP/Vista, there's probably something wrong with your OS. Try reinstalling Windows or seek professional help.

If your computer has an AMD CPU, and Viatech USB Host Controllers; changing the USB Host Controller drivers to standard or generic drivers, may work. Sometimes, putting a line in config.sys, helps. ie. "lastdrive=m"
