Saskatoon To Calgary

I have spent a lot of time with relatives in Saskatoon, and I have lived in Vancouver and Calgary. I would recommend Calgary for a family. Not as expensive or congested as Vancouver, the weather is not as nice as Vancouver, but definitely much better than Saskatoon. Healthcare is the same everywhere. Probably better job availability in Calgary right now and schools would be comparable in all 3 places. Calgary has a lot to offer as far as things to do and activities for young families. It is also safer than Vancouver.

It's shorter to go from Edmonton to Saskatoon - just under 6 hours driving. Divided highway most of the way. Really nice scenery, lots of great stops along the way (Vegreville, Lloydminster, North Battleford).
The trip from Calgary to Saskatoon is over 7 hours driving. Not a great highway - at least on the Sask. side.

Saskatoon is in Saskatchewan, east of Alberta on Highway 16. It is approximately the same distance eastward into Saskatchewan (from the Alberta border) as from Edmonton to the eastern edge of Alberta, as shown on the map.

It sounds like you want driving distances.

Edmonton is 325 miles and 5 3/4 hours drive on Highway 16. It looks to be a pretty direct connection.

Calgary is 390 miles and a 7 hour drive.
