This is a question that could be defined through experience against all the class. Everyones mental ability is the desire to require more. If you actually get that requirement your mind will poke you that you still not satisfy that leaves you to be unhappy person. When actually you achieve a target it makes you happy for few days and than the desire changes.

example: I think everyone has gone through this similar example I am about to state. When a person has the money he actually don't understand what to buy. When the person is out of money than he feels like I wish I had money to buy that thing.

Similarly, when you get promoted your needs and wants changes with time. Therefore, noone is happy due to their ability to their needs and want accordingly to your mental psychology. People could get happy if he sets a limit that they are happy for what he/she has.

The conclusion is that you could be truly content if you have control over your mind. Mind makes every human move accordingly to the desire and if you set your mind limit it will never provoke you to do further more than the ability to its setting.

That's why concentration and meditation is important in everyone life to get yourself relaxed.

Thanks

Even with my love in Iraq, I am content in life. There are still things I have not done that I would love to do, but in time they will happen.
God makes me feel secure and content with everything he gives me and allows me to experience.

Too many people live a life that cannot make them content, because most live by a standard that others set for them. You don't need material/earthly things to be happy. Make your life content, by living at your own pace and standard. You'll soon feel like you never needed those things and life will seem "half full" instead of empty.

Good luck!

Happiness is fleeting. As for contentment, as in truly content of everything, I wouldn't say so because we often equate it with fulfillment and self-actualization and these things aren't easy to achieve.

I can't complain.I wouldn't go as far as to say 'happy', but yes I have been blessed with many great things in life.

It is human nature to be naive and 'want more and more'. We all want something-may it be a new expensive car or world peace. We all yearn for something and many times we think when we aquire it we will gain us true happiness. But true happiness will never be defined ,thus it phillisophically doesn't exist . Just remeber, all that we know to be happiness is temporarly. We all face one thing in life......

Happy ? Reasonably so --- not absolutely screaming thrilled -- But--all things considered -- not bad !!!
Content ? Don't even care to approach contentment !! That is where an individual STOPS growth and progress-- once you hit "contentment" you -- kick back and ride--- all efforts to improve and move forward go to hell in a handbag and before you know it-- you've grinned your way into bankruptcy and failure !!!

Yes, I am. Not like over zealous, and hopping up & down. But I still can't find my butterfly net.

Content? Rarely, I've always have 3 or more irons in the fire going on. Life is too short to waste.

Hope your Happy.

I DO NOT look before and after and pine for what is not for I know our sincerest laughter with some pain is fraught and our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thoughts. I am not a Romantic like Shelley, but I think these thoughts of his reflect my outlook on life too. And with that kind of outlook, one can never be happy, but can only be content.

Right now in my life, I'd have to say no. I mean, I can't change where I am right now and I suppose I'm alive and well..but I would change it if I could; so I suppose I'm not content.
