being "the friend" is probably why you know what's going on, they confide in you. if you act like a parent, you won't be the friend any more. my way is; i can't stand around and watch you do this because i know it's wrong. and later when the dust settles you'll blame me for not stopping you, so i'm outta here!!!!! if the friendship is real, most times they'll be right behind you.

We can't ever stop, or be responsible for, another human being's actions. We can give advice, we can share our thoughts and concerns, but we can never actually force change upon something that has already been set in motion. The best thing you can do is to try to live your own life as a positive example, and hope they can learn from having a strong positive role model such as yourself that is concerned about their well being.

Sometimes you can't thye have to make the mistakes and you have to be the freind and hlp them thru it, just remember someday you may do the same thing and hope they will be there for you.
