Bush is still in the White house. Next question.

Since liberals have blamed Bush for everything including Katrina. I'd say that the liberals caused unusually cold weather in the blue states so I guess it's time to blame the other party for a change. I do know that gas prices have gone up more than 35 cents a gallon and the stock market has taken a turn downward. Many liberal policies such as wanting to impose windfall profits taxes and impose strict environmental controls that will hinder building new refineries will further cause the price of gas to continue to rise especially if they get a Democrat with that philosophy in the White House in 2009. Elect Hillary or Obama and expect $4/gallon gas prices.

wow...you only dont get it. Bush has veto ability, congress needs a 2/3 majority to override the veto. From what i have heard, democrats have a majority, yet no longer 2/3 majority. also, republicans can filibuster because they are the minority. So, its the republicans that are battling issues from getting accomplished. also, gas expenditures isnt managed by technique of Congress, Bush, or any branch contained in the authorities. it may attempt to do something and with somewhat of luck, the gas expenditures could respond to it. besides the undeniable fact that, it can't make the gas expenditures flow down. gas expenditures is amazingly usually inspired by technique of economics and organization. (ex. Inflation, cost of the U. S. dollar, the procuring ability of the U. S. dollar, competition, etc...)

Why do you still think that gas prices are decided by who is in office? Gas prices are decided by who pumps the oil. OPEC has cut back on the oil they are pumping because the price of oil was falling. It has nothing to do with who's in charge on Capital Hill. Instead of pointing fingers start reading books about economics.

There are several factors that come into play. The demand for oil is rising, the ability to refine oil is not keeping up with demand, several oil producing nations are cutting back on how much they pump, oil companies inflate the price of the oil to make more money and speculators drive the prices up by thinking demand will be higher as we come in to the summer months.

Yep...Congress doesn't control at what price oil is traded by the barrel on the open market, nimrod! OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) does.
When you have oil being traded at 61 dollars a barrel when it used to trade for 25 bucks (back during the Clinton administration), and the fact that this fool of a president has done everything (including kill innocent people; not to mention our own troops) to push the value of it up. That's why the price keeps going up. Congress doesn't regulate that.
But revenge is a sweet thing, once he finally gets his hands on this oil that he's caused so much chaos to steal, we the American people are going to ween ourselves off of it, thereby making it worthless.

Buddy, I'm as conservative as it gets, and I'm going to tell you that what your implying is just childish mud-throwing!

Oil prices are all about supply and demand. Why do you think we are still in Iraq? To find WMD's? To "free" the Iraqi people? NO WAY! If there are WMD's then they are in Syria, and if the Iraqi people really wanted democracy, then they wouldn't be killing each other (59,000 dead from the Sectarian Violence).

The Iraq War is all about oil at this point, and that's because if we get Iraq's rich oil fields, we won't have to worry about $2.50 a gallon gas again for decades!

Think about that!

But it's still 50 cents/gal lower than when the Republicans were in charge of Congress last summer. Do you have an explanation for that?

By the way, not all of us who voted out your "do-nothing" cronies, outright crooks, racists, gay child molesters and other deviates last November were liberal. Some of us are middle-of-the-roaders while others were and are still card-carrying republicans.

Its a reaction by the oil companies to statements from Pelosi and Hillary Clinton that they are going to emasculate the oil companies with higher taxes.

hahaha... very funny...

but seriously... this increse is like a 15 percent increase... vs. what was nearly a 100 percent increase before in most places...

but, I will be you they would actually DO SOMETHING if it got near a 100 percent increase... unlike previous congresses... but of course Bush would veto it...

and another thing... I don't remember many people blaming the Repubican congress before?
