I've made a fdisk (boot disk) and I have the win98se CD. (i got it off a mate O mine) Unfortunately I don't have a "product key". Is there any other way I can find it...the registry?
In other words, does each winOS cd, have it's own distinguished Product Key?
Even if I can find the product key on the OS i'm using now, what use is it, for the reinstall?

I rang him to see if he could find it, but he's not got back to me.

Yes each cd has its own key just like a house or car has its own key to get in. I suggest you go to www.thepiratebay.com and download win98se with a keygen or serial key there that way you'll have ur own CD with key.

from my experience with win98se, since it doesn't really have activation for those old operating systems, any product key will work. you can get some product keys from websites like www.serials.ws, and www.seriall.com. just make sure you have a good anti-virus and anti-spyware program before you attempt to go into those sites, as they contain lots of malicious stuff.. ooh and dont' download anything from there.. trust me.. if your disk doesn't really work that well, then i suggest to look for a torrent for a win98 cd at sites like www.piratebay.org, www.isohunt.com, and www.demonoid.com.
