Lets be honest the thing that makes America, America, is that people have different views on issues. Sure everyone wants their way or no way, but I fear the media maybe separating two different viewpoints of governments. Like O'Riely likes to say its Red vs. Blue, Conservatives vs Liberals, I say its not because America has always been like this. People has always had opposing view points from the begging, so is it really fair to call it a WAR when its really just how we work?

There is a major problem here and its very unsettling. Its clear that political parties and many in the media (I said media not news-people) make their income from feeding the fire of rage. This is how book writers of the extreme keep selling books so that those with rage are re-enforced. People like O'Riely and Limbaugh keep viewers engaged. Ok,, we should all see that.

Its really time that all of us start to reject the rage makers because its got the potential to kill this country. We have to reject 'red meat' from extreme views and look for ways to come together. We have to reject politicians that play to the extreme.

All of these things are a reflection of us. If we stop consuming the product, a different product will be offered. Stop hate!

No, it is not correct to say "war" when attempting to discribe conflicting oppinions. However, the culture war perspective is based on large populations conflicting in cultural beliefs. For instance, remember the civil war and the battles fought to set the slaves free. That was a cultur war, though not entirely based on this issue alone. Another example is the belief that women should cover they're faces in public. One religion says that they better while others say no. Though it is not a war yet it very well could become one soon.

lib v con isnt a culture war...a culture war is a carload of ghetto gangsta wannabes low riding through a neighborhood not their own, playing vile sex and profanity laced rap out of stereos with speakers under the car at 3 am,trying to make the people who live there admit they exist....the people that live there have no intention of even looking at those psuedo-humanoids,much less admitting they are alive and the clash that occurs when those types meet is what a culture war is....lib v con isnt anything more than an intelectual excercise in who is the most correct in what they are saying at the time.......

I thought we used to call it the generation gap. Culture war is a term of the radical Christian right. They need to instill fear into their members to keep the money flowing into the coffers. If they make their members feel threatened (persecuted, in their delusional world), they can paint everyone else as controlled by Satan and keep their sheep under control.
