Plays individual basketball (as characterized by his World Champs display), doesn't display leadership required by a young franchise palyer, has yet to play thru the rough times. Over-rated or misunderstood?????

It's hard to even consider the league's leading scorer as over-rated and disappointing, but it's a good question. The Nuggets have yet to be at full strength and all the hype of the acquisition of Iverson helped hide the fact that A) It will be near impossible for Iverson and Anthony to get on the same page with suspensions and injuries in half a season, and B) They don't play defense! The Nuggets need Iverson, the proven winner, to take the lead. It's Anthony's team, mind you, but he doesn't know how to lead it yet.

Carmello is a very talented player who i think got a bad rap after the Olympics from his attitude. i dont think it was too much of his 'bad self', but probably lack of maturity and frustration. i mean, if ur picked to be in the team, u of course want to play right? and i think that was his concern. he just handled it wrong.
in saying so however, he came out the next year and really led the Nuggets well. he scores at a high rate, rebounds and hits clutch baskets. if hes guilty of not leading this team, then maybe its due to his young age, or perhaps his personality....maybe hes not the vocal leader but rather the guy who leads by example.
i think Carmello is a talented athlete who one day will be top 5 player in the game. this of course will come with some more maturity

Melo is talented but young and confused. He was the leader of his team then A.i came crashing in, now he has no idea who the leader is. He is the league's leading scorer because Arenas is inconsistent, Kobe wants to be Nash, Lebron is missing free throws and wade is always on vacation.

On the court, it's too soon to classify Anthony as "disappointing". You said it yourself that he's a "young franchise" player (not in quotations because of your misspelling).
That's about as good as I can do in defending a player I have despised since his lone college season, but at least he played college ball longer than Kobe and LeBron did combined.

I agree, i think of Allen Iverson leaving for the pistons has helped carmelo because of the fact now no person else is particularly competing with him anymore and he's in simple terms wearing the group by himself

he is the best talent out there! but pushed to the star level too soon when came in!
selfish is part of the nba, as a scorer u need that to be able to win games!
when denver are full, without injuries, see how he shall do!

He is still maturing. Give him some times. It took Jordan 6 years before he got his first championship and learnt how to get the team together. Melo will be great ... I believe in him!

this is his third season in the bigs...so far potential but no delivery...no partciular reason to think otherwise will happen in the near future...what ever happend to the day when star players just played...and didnt give every little excuse why they arent excelling...somehow it never seems to be them...
