I ve usually have a regular menstrual cycle, it comes every month. However since December , my period did not come.Im 22 years old and recently i did have a medical scare but thank God there was nothing really serious that needs any actions.Anyways during December till now, i went through a CT scan, X-Ray , Ultrasound and TB test. I also took a 3 week course of malaria pills because i had to go to the jungle.Does anyone know if any of these procedures could have affected my menstrual cycle?im quite worried about this issue. My mom said if after three months and i dont get my period i might have to see the doctor again..My results for my ovaries are all normal in the CT scan.Thank you for your help. I also did not have sex so im not pregnant at all.

I wasn't gettig my period for a couple months, and it was really scary. I went to see a gynocologist and he gave me one medication that gave me my period within a couple days. Then I have been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo birth cotrol pills since to help regulate my period. When this happend I was very nervous and the doctor really didn't have much of an explanation for it. Now with the birth control pill I have been getting my period every month.

I have heard that other things can cause amenohrea (no period) other than being pregnant. Being too thin, or too much physical exertion, or too much stress and worry. Your body is just saying this is not a good time to get pregnant. This is understandable considering what you have been through lately. I think if you relax and enjoy a break from menstruation (periods), and try to look after your health, your body will sort itself out and soon be back to normal. :) If it is stressing you out too much, go and see a doctor. I'm sure they can give you a simple cure. Best wishes.

This definitely needs to be evaluated by a dr. Did they do any kind of blood work to check for hormone imbalances such as thyroid disorders? The reason I ask is because sometimes a hormone imbalance can cause problems with the period.

See a Gyanec. No one would be able to help through the web. It does not seem scary. May be the reason of the meds. Dont be paranoid. Visit a good gynaec at a hospital or private clinic and surely u would be fine.

I suggest talking to the doctor now (unless you very recently got tested). You never know what the tiniest of things could be, so I suggest you get it checked out.
