Hello,

Just curious if anyone has had this happen. I have a couple pairs of heels that are about 5 inches tall I love them to death but when I go to buy a pair sometimes I have to go up a 1/2 size due to the angle of the arch etc...is this a normal thing? Just wondering. I know it is a superficial question but like I said just curious.

Thanks for you time--jammie

I def. understand what your saying. You even lucky as it is cus i have flat feet and i cant even wear high heels. But its just so your feet dont get squised its a good idea to go up a 1/2ince specially if you have a high arch or maybe the shoe is cut funny.
Btw i loved your answer for my question Thanks so mucho! i picked 2 quick or i wooda pick yers as best answer =(.

If you read the "small print" on the websites of some of the better shoe retailers, they often advise you buying up to a size larger when buying shoes with heels higher than four inches.

However, this has to be balanced (excuse the pun) with the need for the shoe not to be too loose on the foot. Otherwise, there is a danger of you, literally, toppling over.

If you buy such shoes in a shop, make sure that you walk some distance with them on. If you buy them mail-order or via the web, make sure they can be returned if the size is wrong - only walk on a carpet until you are sure.

heels are really tricky thing. Sometimes you gotta go up 1/2 or down 1/2...either way its no big deal and its best to make sure they fit perfect so they dont flop and you dont fall on your face....or if their to small and they leave your feet all chewed up. Heals size vary by designer soo much so it best to try alot of different sizes. I'm a heal girl and i do the same thing. But usually if im going for a really big heal i go down 1/2 so it fits just perfect...and i can rock out those 6 inchers. Juast do whats best for you.

Yes its compleatly normal if you dont want your feet really crunched or your feet spilling over the narrow angle of the arch.
