I do not think the doctor will be able to tell if you have had sex because there are a number of reasons that your hymen could have broken. But I do think you should tell your doctor and let them know that you do not want your parents to know. A doctor is there to help you and there are things that need to be checked for if you are having sex. Remember that is what your doctor is for if you wish him/her not to tell your parents they must respect your wishes. Remember only protected sex if you must do it. There are a lot of things out there you could catch not to mention AIDS. Be careful and Good Luck

Well technically your hymen will be broken, however a lot of girls do that using a tampon so the Dr really can't tell for sure if you've had sex or not. It's not like the guy leaves a tattoo behind after he pulls out, so the only indication is whether or not the hymen is intact, and that's not proof of sexual activity. Mine was broken before I had sex for the first time. Why, are you afraid she'll tell your parents? Not sure on doctors, don't think there is any confidentiality where minors are concerned though.

Well you should have asked a doctor about the extreme pain before trying to have sex again, but I'm guessing you're underage and can't tell your doctor. That's dangerous because once you become sexually active you need to be checked for many more things, like Pap smears for cervical cancer. Your doctor will see a broken hymen, but that could have been broken from many other things like tampons and bike riding. But if you've got irritation down there from lack of lubrication or too much sex or something she'll see that too. You should tell your Doctor, and specify that you don't want your parents knowing. She can't tell them what is said between you two. Doctor-patient privacy. That way you stay healthy and your parents don't know.
EDIT: There is actually no way for a doctor to positively say you've had sex by looking at the hymen, for that very reason (sports and tampons and such). All the hymen can tell him is that you definately have NOT had sex, if it is intact.

Yes, because your hymen has been broken. There is nothing to be ashamed of. What your doctor knows shouldn't leave her office. All matters should be confidential.

You did and yes the doctor can tell. However, don't worry. The doctor can not disclose personal information without your approval. If your parents are giving you the "heat" then don't sweet it. Just inform the doctor of the truth and tell her/him that you do not want your parents to know. They must respect your wishes.

Definitely. That's why she's a doctor; she knows what she's looking at when she opens you up to check you out, dummy!

What is the cause for your concern? Why should you leave it for the Doctor to find out. Why not tell him or her. We don't go to the doctor for playing games. Discuss and consult, please.
