Blind people have various hobbies as well as various professions. Reading is not their only hobby either (they can read with braille or listen to books on tape/cd). With various resources ( and safety precautions for some things) they can enjoy crafts such as knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, sewing, pottery. woodworking, various games (braille or tactile versions) such as; chess, checkers, bingo other board games and cards. They can go bowling, skiing, swimming, dancing, running and even bicycling (tandem with another person). Also, there are probably other activities that I'm not thinking of. Blind people may not be able to do everything that a seeing person can do but they have the ability to do a lot of things.

There is the Braille to read ... trained dogs to guide and play ... a loving person to keep company ... know a blind lawyer who fights for underdogs ... if one faculty is lost the others do overtime to balance matters ... or did you not give much thought before you posed the Qn? ... my heart went out to you and all those blind people to see how ill informed we are.

Just how uneducated are you?
They read braille books, surf the internet using text web browsers and text to voice synthsizers, write stories, listen to music _and_ books, make models (planes, boats, etc.), pottery, jog, swim, lift weights, and many other things.
I personally know two. One of them competes in triathlons, running and cycling with a partner. I met mutual acquaintance through them who did Greco-Roman wrestling (high school and olympic wrestling, not that "WWF" crap).

Same things you do for hobbies, they just have to go about it a different way.
