Use gloves and goggles and scoop it up with two shovels, into a plastic stacking box. You can then safely move it to the tip when you are going.
P.S. Please don't just put it in the bin as it's dangerous for the bin men.

Slide a board or tray or something sturdy underneath the box, then put another box over the top so all the contents are encased. Carry the contraption to the garbage or recycle. Wear gloves while doing it too. Alternatively, slide a tarp or heavy duty garbage bag under the existing box and wrap up the stuff.

Not sure where you live...but if you have one, use a snow shovel to scoop up the box & contents all at once...you can then place it in another box and take it to your local recycle center (they may charge a few bucks to dispose of it in a demolition bin). If you have a shop vac you could lightly vacuum over the area after the box is removed to suck up any tiny, tiny pieces which may be embedded in grass or too small to pick up by hand (empty into same box before you dispose of it) ...this will hopefully protect any summer bare feet or puppy paws from picking up a stray shard.

I personally would put it in a fresh secure box (which you must have plenty of having just moved in!)
Put newspaper on the bottom of the box & then shovel the sharp items in. Top off with newspaper & any packing material you have & take it to the tip. Or if you live in an area in england where they have those big plastic bins, put it in that (because the bin men dont touch that & so wont cut themselves)

I'm with Roxy on this one. Scoop it into a good sturdy container and take it to the recycling centre. The bin is not the place for glass.

wrap it in bubble wrap, put it in a new box, wrap it in pretty paper and send it to the new address of the riffy folk that left it there.
