Not really. The bank-led consortium have a much better chance to run it as a business, rather than a government-funded charity. The safeguards they have requested in order to preserve its 'icon' status seem to have calmed any fears of possible asset stripping and assured a positive financial future for such an important international company.

Certainly not.

The role of the government is to provide anything necessary that the market cannot provide, like public health, defence, roads and the like.

If the airline is loosing money, why should the taxpayer pay?
