Sorry, but my answer isn't as weird an cryptic. Companionship can be a platonic bond between two people, such as two schoolboys that are friends. It can also be the relationship between a man and his dog. It could mean a romantic relationship as well. Some solicitors of prostitutes call soliciting prostitutes finding companionship.

Companionship is the relationship you have with someone who just fits you. It's a friend you have had for years. Living thousands of miles apart and talking only a few times a year and you will still be able to talk for hours.
It's also the person you fell in love with and have lived with for years. You can know each other inside and out and be together each day and there will still always be wonderful conversations and strange but wonderful new ways to see each other.
A companion is someone you love to be around and always feel comfortable around and, still, somehow, excited to be around who feels the exact same way you do.

Companionship is a moment shared with silence, affection, meaning of words, building something with renewed vision, and talking. planning first steps with another, just to name a few.

Whatever is not as "part, whole, equivalence, uniqueness, limit, link, sensation, influence, derivative, origin, condition, rule, intent, and fulfillment" is not companionship.

Interesting etymology of that word: Latin "com" (with) and "panis" (bread or food). A companion then, is anyone with whom you share food.
