my 3 month old got a cold from her older sister. she started off with very mild fever (not higher than 100.5 rectal) then a runny nose and a mild cough. I took her to the paeditrician who told me that her chest was clear and that she had no wheezing. now as from yesterday her cough has gotten much worse, and i don't know if it is croup.what does the cough sound like when it is croup? the doc gave me saline drops, and a syrup for blocked/ runny noses. he gave me nothing for the cough. i will be taking her to him again if the cough will persist. the sneezing has stopped and she has had no fever for 2 days now. she sleeps well at night and only coughs when she is awake. any help please?

Benylin has pediatric drops for infants 3 months and older.I get mine at walmart. If she's coughing like a dog that's croup but if it's just a normal cough it's probably not! I would bring her to the Dr. again cause a cold can turn ugly really fast and you don't want that to run too long with a young infant. Do you have a vaporisor that could help some during the day. Even a little vicks could help. It is a good sign though that she's sleeping well at night, You don't want a grumpy baby all day long! Coughing is one way for her to get all of the bad out of her system too! I hope this clears up soon!
