Doc is the format for Word for windows and most employers want all that stuff in word or "doc" format so that it is easily uploaded and read.
If you have word for windows on your computer you can copy and paste it into a blank page, although all your formatting may not carry over. Really it depends on the format that it is currently in and whether or not you have word for windows so that you can convert it.

the doc format refers to files that are written in Microsoft Word. when you wright your cv in Word and save it to the comp you get a .doc format document.. btw the doc refers to documen.

if you have no MS stuff at your comp:
it is also possibel to create doc format with free wordprocessors such as Open Office too, but if you create the flies there.

ps: good luck with the job

doc stands for document

you could save as text document with notepad also but like someone else said, would lose formatting (margins, spacing etc that you had set up in your cv)

I am a student with the Open University and we have to submit our assignments in .doc format which, for whatever reason, my PC doesn't like doing. So I save my documents in RTF (rich text format) which can be read by many different programs(apparently) according to the OU. (File menu-save as-.doc/rtf-ok)
