I would assess the type of help needed to rescue that person, see if its a job that I myself alone could handle without causing more harm or if I need to shout for more help or call.
The question is not difficult for me to answer, because I believe that if you can do it then do it , whether it is to rescue someone your self , call for help or depending on how injured they are and if you can get close enough to them to give them comfort until the proper help did arrive. Just picture someone you love needing help and a person just walking off leaving them wounded or close to death . It in my opinion would be criminal to not do anything that you are able to do , and face it if you cannot lift something heavy that they are trapped under, or you cannot swim to reach them if they are in water, if they have blood pouring out of them and you cannot stop the flow properly to help them survive that is forgiveable . BUT if you make a conscious decision to leave them because they will die soon anyways and you cannot physically help that would be unforgiveable. A person needs someone, does not matter who, near them or just even close enough to be heard by them when they are dying or close to death. Sometimes , even if you cannot save them a miracle can happen where people can hang on long enough for help to arrive, as long as they know they are not completely alone.
If I had this question when I was younger than 16 years of age , I would have told you that I would have stayed near that person but would have been to scared to help. I have seen so much grief happen since that , so I know myself as a capable humane person, so even if I am not a good swimmer and if someone was stuck needing help in the water , I would find the best possible way to get them out safely even if I had to get in the water myself . Hopefully ,I would be able to find something that I could use to assist in this without drowning myself , that would not help anyone and they really would be alone till help arrived.
I also think that most people given the chance , would help in any bad situation, and some will even surprise themselves with strength they never knew they had.
Sorry that my answer is so long , but it is foolish to rush into something without thinking the best and safest way to do it , unless you were limited for time.

If it is safe, rescue him or her.
If you can't, call for help.
If the structure continues to make noise like cracking wood or stretching metal, run away

i will choose the option a. if i cant really do that, i will choose the option b. but i will for god sake not choose the option c. even if my life is gonna end by helping him/her then still i would do it, because am not dying without a meaning, i am atleast rescuing a life then destructing my life, so theres a meaning in my life.
