I thought it was fine but my friend who is younger and dare I say cooler told me I HAD to buy brown shoes. Personally I didn't think anyone would notice!

Either is a good choice but I would personally wear the black shoes.
Sometimes too much brown can be an eyesore for others who look at you.
Mix it up, but not too much. :)

Well, too much brown - that does not even match - would not be that pretty.
I vote for black shoes and handbag as well!
By the way, even in a suit, it is perfectly fine to wear shoes and handbag of different colours, as long as they go together (black suit, black shoes and colourful handbag for ex)

You can wear whatever you like, so far the fashion police are just a figment of our imagination! Black shoes go with most things as long as you have some other black stuff, belt, bag, necklace etc. Or you could be really avant garde and wear olive green, that looks fantastic with the right shade of brown. What colour tights?

If you are going to rock the brown outfit with black shoes and purse then you need an accessory to tie it together. Try a scarf with a tan and black theme or different shades of chocolate that are bordered in black or--for a sassy look--the ever ready leopard print.
Or you can cinch that waist with a big bold black belt. That look is hot right now--then the black accessories will be the pop to your up to date look.

Seriously your freind is right!!! Never wear black and brown together!!! You need to get brown or tan coloured shoes and handbag -- trust me x

Both would be fine, but my preference is to have the handbag and shoes color coordinated.

of course you can. you can make up eyes and lips with something like brown and wear any accessorie . you can wear a black shirt too.

black shoes would look fine espcially if you use a black handbag to tie it in somewear
