Just got back from the gym and i realised that most women there had make-up on as if they were going out to a party or something!! is that odd or normal, curious about your thoughts, thanks

i don't know, maybe they feel self concious about themselves. i never wear make up and i'm 37

I wonder the same thing myself. It always makes me laugh seeing a girl on a treadmill trying to wipe sweat off her face in a way that is not going to smudge her mascara. Makes no sense to me coz I think the gym is somewhere you have license to look like crap - you are working out after all. The only thing I can put it down to is there are some women out there who only want to look good so that they can find a man, after they have found him they will stop trying. I think they are worried that if they go to the gym with pimples, bags and wrinkles showing they might see a man who could have been the one but because of the way they look at the time the opportunity will pass them by. Stupid I know.

I'm not sure, I wouldn't wear makeup if I know that I'm about to sweat, though. When I go I usually wear what I take to drop off my son at school and then go to the fitness club......I see some women there that try to attract the guys but I guess I'm not really that cheap that way......
I go there to stay in shape and I hate it when guys come up to me and try making conversation like it was a bar or nite club, it distracts me from my goal and I tell them that I am happily married and maybe they would like working out with my husband in the evenings when he goes there.... :-)

Some women only go to the gym to meet potential dates. Maybe they are not going to work out enough to sweat the makeup off and they do make waterproof for the die hard makeup fans.

Because of guys! I go to the gym, but i dont wear make-up because i look good with or with-out wearing any! :)

many women wear make up to the gym too here in my country.. and actually they also wear the sexy gym cloth. i think thats becoz they want to be more attractive, so that men can see them.. and maybe who knows want to ask their phone number and get to know each other better.. especially for them who are single. women will always want to be attractive to the opposite sex.

no big deal about it. if someone feels like wearing make up in gym, what's the big fuss in it,, it simply add confidence.go pretty women, do what u like as long as u dont offend other people and be happy.

Probably becuase the only reason they go to the gym is to pick up guys. I know thats the only reason I'd go to the gym.

Maybe they have come straight from work where they have had make-up on all day. Otherwise I would say they are trying to pick up.

It's good to see women looking good at all times...some women choose to be attractive even at the gym.... I for one appriciate it , fine women give me inspiration to work out harder, you can't be mad at them for it , if it not for you it's not for you ...don't hate on the women that do it(not saying the asker does, just a lot of other women)
