If the older PC doesn't have an ethernet port, you can buy an Network Interface Card, either wireless or ethernet and add it in. That'll run between $10 for the ethernet and around $30 for the wireless. If all you are concerned about is surfing the internet on the old PC, then you won't need an expensive, super-fast wireless card. You can also buy a USB ethernet adapter, or a USB wireless adapter, and those will run a little more respectively.

There are other ways to network PCs, such as a null-modem cable, but those are slower than dirt.

To run a pc on highspeed internet they need an ethernet card, go find one for about $10 or so. And to run two pcs at one time on the web you'll need a router like linksys. Total in cost will be around $89 or somethin close to that.

A network card can be purchased for under $30. A router can be purchased for under $70. You'll spend less than $100 total, a decent chunk of change but hardly a fortune.
