Dreams are the way our subconscious mind works through your thoughts during your conscious hours in the day... It can often mean nothing, just your mind sorting through the memories you made of the day and deciding which to file and which to discard... but it can also be your subconscious mind using its moment of power to communicate something to your body...

Losing one's body in dreams is often a sign of something in your life you want to get rid of and donning anothers body could translate to a subconscious plea for a different life.... that would be the simplest explanation....

If you want to look deeper, the fact that nobody knew who you were could mean you are confused about something... you may feel inadequate to resolve a complication you are in and feel you need a fresh look or a different person's input, hence becoming someone else... the complication can easily be just a new situation, mirrored by the unfamiliar body you found yourself in inside your dream... you may just be confused about a new situation you have been tossed into...

You should look at your life and see if any of this fits... dreams relate to your real life so one cannot discern the meaning of a dream based on the events of the dream... you need to say something about yourself... dreams and reality are linked...
