Give them a chance to get hungry and they will eat anything.

First of all...what kind of pet do you have?? Why are you feeding it fruits, meats, and healthy stuff? Most pets are either one or the other: fruits and veggies or meats. You should never give ANY pet sweets as a main source of nutrition.
Do your research on this pet and find out what the heck it is supposed to be eating! When you find out go to the pet store and buy the food designed for that animal!

It's hard to answer your question because I'm really confused as to what KIND of pets you have.
The pat answer is to tell you that pets should mainly be eating a food that was specifically formulated for their species.
While some "human foods" can be OK as treats/extras in a pet's diet, I can't think of ANY companion animal that is supposed to be eating sugar and sweets at all. In fact, with some animals, giving them sweets is not just unhealthy, it could in fact be toxic.

Pets are like kids.. if you let them get fussy, they will! I'm not sure what kind of pet you'd feed both fruit and meat to... but as far as my cats go, they have always eaten high quality dry cat food and have never turned up their noses or gotten fussy on me! The 'fussy cat' has always seems like a myth to me!
Your pet does NOT need sugar and sweets... pet dentistry is very expensive!

You might try putting a little water with dry food and microwave for 30 seconds, stir and serve. If that is not sufficient, there are all kinds of pet sauces/gravies that you can mix in. I do not recommend 'people' sauces/gravies--you never know what the exact ingredients are. FYI: dogs will get an upset tummy from onions.

Never give your pet(s) human foods espically if your unsure what they do to an animal
you didn't say what pets you are feeding sugaretc to - it willeffect their teeth for sure & possibally give them alot of other problems -- which will mean HUGE vet bills for you to pay
If you really love your pets don't give them candy & junk food - occasional table scraps are ok - small amounts of cookedmeat (with NO bones) and veggies are ok and much healthier than candy etc
stick to kibble & if they don't eat it - just leave it out till they do- they will get themessage soon enough.

What type of sweets are you giving your pets? Table food? You should stop that. That's what is causing them to reject the healthy food. Stop giving them sugary and sweet foods and if you stand firm then they will have no choice but to eat what you've put out for them.

my suggestion is to try a multi colored food some pets like the multi colored food better than the one color food. Also try to feed them wet food once in a while I know it can get expensive but if you love your pets they are worth it.

..I love to feed my pets..maybe they're not feeling well or you've done something that had hurt them..try talking to them..lots of people say that though animals don't understand, they can "feel" what you want to tell them..let them eat from your hands..that way, they can feel you do care and love them..
